Athens LifeTech Park (ALTP), a modern Research & Innovation Hub dedicated to the life sciences, is now looking to hire a highly motivated bioanalytical scientist for its preclinical research unit. ALTP, the first of its kind in Greece, has been established with the aim of advancing drug discovery & early drug development initiatives in Greece and beyond. Our life sciences hub will host several activities essential to drug discovery & development, including a Preclinical Research Services (CRO), a Biotech Incubator for new startup ventures, and a Translational Research Center. The role requires the candidate to provide scientific and bioanalytical knowledge and expertise. Furthermore, the candidate is expected to conduct experimental work, as per the requirements of clientele from across the globe. The major objective is to perform bioanalysis of preclinical (in vivo as well as in vitro) samples from studies with both small and large molecules (biologics). The bioanalysis needs to be performed and reported in accordance to predefined client requirements and regulatory guidelines, wherever applicable. Duties & Responsibilities The selected candidate will be responsible for: Sample preparation and quantitative analysis of preclinical study samples (biological matrix samples like plasma, serum, cerebrospinal fluid and tissues etc) of small molecule compounds using LC-MS/MS technique Developing and validating analytical methods for biologic molecules using LC-MS/MS and/or ligand binding assay (LBA) Sample preparation and quantitative analysis of rat, mice, minipigs, swine and human biological matrix samples using LC-MS/MS and/or LBA techniques Summarizing and reporting the results according to client and regulatory authorities’ requirements Development, evaluation and implementation of new technologies, with a focus on expanding the existing LC-QToF/HRMS (liquid chromatography-Time of Flight or high-resolution mass spectrometry) capacity Maintenance of LC and MS equipment and routine troubleshooting Sharing analytical knowledge and expertise with other members of the team Requirements Practical experience with analysis of in vivo samples using LC-MS/MS and in-depth knowledge and understanding of MS instruments equipped with HPLC and UPLC are required. Prior experience as a bioanalytical scientist is highly desirable. Additionally, experience with: 1) bioanalytical method validation using regulatory authorities’ guidelines, 2) proteomics, metabolomics, and biomarker analysis, 3) software for MS analysis (such as Xcalibur, Masslynx, Unify etc) and electronic lab notebook (ELN) are desired. Knowledge and understanding of ADME (absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion) and pharmacokinetics (PK) processes are advantageous. A PhD in analytical chemistry or related biosciences is a plus. The successful candidate will be flexible and highly motivated, possess good problem solving and time management skills, as well as the capacity to work under tight deadlines. Good interpersonal and collaboration skills and ability to represent the CRO in interdisciplinary and international teams are essential.
