What you'll do
- Organize and implement actions for technical matters arising onboard vessels
- Instruct, coordinate and monitor vessel works and repairs
- Follow up on vessel maintenance, condition and operation with shipboard crews
- Attend vessels and sail periodically to assess equipment condition
- Monitor vessel performance, supervise repairs, report findings and close defects
- Provide training and technical advice to shipboard personnel
- Implement preventive maintenance for hull, main machinery and deck machinery
- Monitor Class and Flag State requirements and plan required surveys
- Manage damage repairs and modifications while preserving commercial competence
- Track technical problems and major defects until corrective action is verified
- Control and monitor lubricating oil and bunker quality and consumption
- Prepare and supervise repairs, conversions, dry-docking, surveys and voyage repairs
- Attend the delivery of new vessel acquisitions
Key requirements
- 3+ years' experience
- Marine engineering and naval architecture
- Vessel maintenance, preventive maintenance and technical repairs supervision
- Class and Flag State compliance; dry-docking and ship repair planning
- Vessel performance monitoring and marine equipment assessment
- Lubricating oil and bunker quality control; technical reporting
- Shipboard personnel training, computer literacy, English language proficiency and travel mobility
- Marine Engineering / Naval Architecturepreferred
