What you'll do
- Supervise technical aspects of assigned fleet vessels, including maintenance, repairs, safety and environmental protection
- Manage the fleet’s annual technical budget
- Monitor superintendent engineers’ vessel visits, evaluate vessel condition and maintenance progress, and report findings
- Review quotations and evaluate purchase orders for technical spares, supplies, repairs, lubricants and engine stores
- Support the claims department with technical information for damage claims
- Participate in the Emergency Response Team and report emergencies immediately
- Coordinate with other departments to deliver efficient ship management services
- Visit vessels for condition assessments during PSC, dry-dock and repair activities
Key requirements
- 8+ years' experience
- Fleet technical management, vessel maintenance and repairs, and superintendent engineering
- Marine safety and environmental protection, plus international maritime legislation and requirements
- Technical budget management and procurement evaluation
- Bulk carrier operations and vessel inspections and condition assessment
- Damage claims support, emergency response, and ship management coordination
- Computer literacy, English fluency, and negotiation
- Mechanical Engineering / Naval Architecture
