  • 15+ years' experience

We are looking Design Senior Manager (Architect) – Design Standards to join our team in Program Execution. The role will report to the Chief Program Execution Officer.

Position Summary

The Design Senior Manager is responsible for identifying establishing, implementing, and managing the company's design management and standardization framework across all projects. The role acts as the link between Development, Design Consultants, Project Management, Construction, and Asset Management teams, ensuring that all projects are delivered in accordance with company design standards, quality requirements and budget objectives.

The Design Manager follows the design process from concept through construction documentation, implementing technical standards, and control mechanisms to achieve consistency across the company's development portfolio. This includes coordinating multidisciplinary consultant teams, managing design deliverables, and ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

In detail the Design Senior Manager - Design Standards will be responsible for:

Key Responsibilities

1. Design Standardization & Governance

  • Develop and maintain the company's Design Standards Manual.

  • Establish standard design criteria, specifications, technical requirements, and design guidelines.

  • Create and manage design review procedures and approval workflows.

  • Implement a Design Governance Framework with defined decision gates and approval milestones.

  • Ensure consistency across all developments regarding quality, functionality, sustainability, branding, and user experience.

  • Develop standard templates for design briefs, consultant deliverables, design reports, and review checklists. 

  • Identify and prioritize specific areas and items for design and material standardization across all project types

     

3. Cost & Value Management Support

  • Collaborate with Development and Cost Management teams to align design solutions with budget objectives.

  • Participate in value engineering exercises.

  • Review design decisions for cost efficiency and operational effectiveness.

  • Support life-cycle cost optimization initiatives.

 

4. Construction Support

  • Provide technical support during procurement and construction phases.

  • Review contractor design proposals and technical submissions.

  • Participate in technical workshops and site coordination meetings.

  • Monitor design compliance during construction.

  • Support resolution of design-related site issues.

 

5. Continuous Improvement

  • Develop and maintain a centralized knowledge management system.

  • Capture lessons learned from completed projects.

  • Benchmark industry best practices.

  • Continuously improve design management procedures and standards.

  • Support digital transformation initiatives related to design management and BIM.

 

Standardization Process Ownership

The Design Manager shall be the owner of the company's Design Standardization Program, including:

Design Stage Gates

  • Developed Design Approval 

  • Technical Design Approval

  • Construction Release Approval

  • Handover & Lessons Learned Review

 

Standard Deliverables

  • Design Brief

  • Design Responsibility Matrix

  • Design Review Reports

  • Design Compliance Checklist

  • Lessons Learned Register

 

Stage-gate governance and formal design reviews are widely recognized as effective methods for controlling quality, risk, and decision-making throughout project development. 

You will be a successful candidate for our job opening, if you can identify yourself with the following criteria:

 

Qualifications:

Education

  • Degree in Architecture (required).

  • Master's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Real Estate Development, or related field (preferred).

  • Registered Architect in Greece (preferred).

 

Experience

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in architecture, design management, or real estate development.

  • Minimum 10  years of experience in construction management.

  • Experience managing multidisciplinary design teams.

  • Experience in residential, hospitality, mixed-use, commercial, or large-scale development projects.

  • Proven experience developing design standards and governance processes is highly desirable.

  • Min 10 years of experience in the Greek construction market.

 

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Greek building regulations and permitting processes.

  • BIM and digital collaboration knowledge.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM platforms, and Microsoft Office.

  • Knowledge of sustainability certifications such as LEED, BREEAM, and WELL is advantageous.

  • Strong understanding of project delivery processes and construction methodologies.
