What you'll do
- Direct and work with housekeeping staff to maintain clean guestrooms, public spaces, and employee areas
- Complete inspections and hold staff accountable for corrective actions
- Manage housekeeping department finances, maximizing profitability and controlling expenses
- Schedule and adjust labor based on business needs
- Assist in preparation and management of the department budget
- Manage and maintain company assets to stay within budget and prolong asset life
- Ensure sufficient room inventory is cleaned and available to maximize revenue
- Provide quality room cleanliness and supplies to ensure guest satisfaction
- Respond timely and courteously to guest concerns and requests, focusing on service recovery
- Train and model guest service standards while working with staff
- Conduct routine inspections to maintain housekeeping standards
- Motivate staff by setting goals, providing feedback, and recognizing employees
- Interview, hire, coach, and develop housekeeping employees
- Promote collaboration and a positive, professional work environment
- Attend department and hotel meetings for communication and planning
- Advise and implement changes to housekeeping operations
- Lead housekeeping and laundry initiatives and meet productivity standards
