What you'll do
- Issue, open and serve wine and champagne bottles
- Answer guest questions about wine origins, vintages and styles
- Update and maintain the wine list and MICROS system
- Pair and suggest wines that complement menu items
- Attend wine tastings and build vendor relationships
- Request new wines and products
- Create and update wine lists
- Design and implement wine promotions and incentive programs
- Monitor and replenish wine cellar, equipment and glassware inventory
- Train and educate server and bartender staff
- Conduct staff wine tastings
- Control costs through purchasing, inventory control and cost-control measures
- Follow all applicable laws for responsible alcohol service
Key requirements
- 2+ years' experience
- Sommelier expertise, wine knowledge and wine service
- Wine pairing and wine list management
- MICROS
- Purchasing, inventory control and cost control
- Staff training and wine promotions
- English language, responsible alcohol service and revenue maximization
- Business Administration / Any Fieldpreferred
