This role reports directly to the Chief Technology Officer and will have a major impact on performance, visibility, and growth across multiple client properties.Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:<ul><li>Lead the development and execution of comprehensive SEO strategies for media and publishing clients with high content volumes and audience demands</li><li>Build scalable SEO workflows and technical frameworks to support multiple content-heavy properties across various media verticals</li><li>Partner with editorial, development, product, and analytics teams to ensure SEO best practices are implemented across content creation, page templates, and CMS functionalities</li><li>Conduct in-depth technical audits and define improvements to site structure, internal linking, page speed, and indexability</li><li>Guide the implementation of structured data, schema markup, and media-specific enhancements like AMP and Google Discover optimization</li><li>Drive ongoing keyword research, content opportunity analysis, and SERP trend monitoring to fuel organic growth</li><li>Set up and lead regular performance reporting, analytics tracking, and benchmarking across domains and competitors</li><li>Recruit and develop a high-performing SEO team as the business grows, including oversight of agencies or partners</li><li>Stay at the forefront of algorithm changes and SEO innovations specific to media and news publishing environments</li><li>Any other task that may be required from time to time</li></ul>Professional experience &amp; qualifications of a successful candidate:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management &amp; Information Technology, Marketing or a related field</li><li>Master’s degree (MBA, Management &amp; Information Technology, or a related field) is highly preferred</li><li>Minimum 7 years’ experience in SEO, including leadership roles supporting high-traffic media, publishing, or content-first websites.</li><li>Expertise in news SEO, Google News optimization, and discoverability in fast-moving content ecosystems.</li><li>Strong hands-on proficiency with SEO tools such as Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Botify, and Google Search Console.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to work within complex CMS platforms and collaborate on technical SEO implementation with developers.</li><li>Solid grasp of core web technologies (HTML, JavaScript, structured data) and their SEO implications.</li><li>Experience leading SEO for large-scale, multi-domain digital environments is highly desirable.</li><li>Fluency in Greek and proficiency in English, both written and spoken</li></ul>Core competencies of a successful candidate:<ul><li>Strategic and results-driven</li><li>Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail</li><li>Strong cross-functional collaborator</li><li>Clear and persuasive communicator</li><li>Highly adaptable in fast-paced content settings</li><li>Deep interest in media, publishing, and digital trends</li></ul>
