The position is full-time for one year and may be renewable upon agreement of all parties. The successful candidate will directly report to the Academic Dean and have a record of professional experience that demonstrates the ability to undertake the following:<ul><li>Develop a mission that supports the particular goals of the Division and ACT’s broader goals.</li><li>Build strong relationships with the community.</li><li>Represent the interests of the Science &amp; Technology Division to ACT’s administration and outside constituencies.</li><li>Provide a key communication link between the ACT administration and Division faculty.</li><li>Develop partnerships with other universities.</li><li>Promote excellence in teaching, research and service.</li><li>Oversee the departmental assessment process and conduct periodic program reviews.</li><li>Oversee accreditation &amp; validation reviews.</li><li>Drive program development, evaluation and growth.</li><li>Oversee external grants, special programs and development projects.</li><li>Coordinate the division’s curricula with the relevant coordinator(s).</li><li>Assist in hiring new faculty.</li><li>Oversee faculty development and evaluation.</li><li>Assist in new student recruitment.</li><li>Oversee retention of majors.</li><li>Oversee student affairs, including advising and internships.</li><li>Develop and monitor the Division budget.</li></ul>Position Requirements<ul><li>A doctoral Degree in an academic area that relates to the Science and Technology division. Preference will be given to candidates with background in the broad area of computing.</li><li>Demonstrated record of academic and professional achievement in higher education.</li><li>Demonstrated record of successful leadership and administrative experience in academic settings.</li><li>Excellent command of the English language.</li><li>Excellence in oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Interest and experience in developing partnerships with schools in the US and with the community in Greece.</li><li>Demonstrated teaching experience and ability to teach in one of the areas offered by the Science and Technology Division. A minimum of six years of university/college level teaching experience or other relevant work experience is required. Middle School Assistant PrincipalSchool:&nbsp;Middle SchoolReports to:&nbsp;Middle School PrincipalSchool year:&nbsp;2025-2027ACS Athens seeks a dedicated, student-centered&nbsp;Middle School Assistant Principal&nbsp;who will support the Middle School Principal in fostering a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment that is aligned with the philosophy of Conscious Global Citizenship. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong instructional leadership, expertise in technology integration, a high level of integrity, and a deep understanding of American curriculum and standards.Responsibilities:1. Instructional Leadership<ul><li>Assists in the establishment of schoolwide goals and objectives.</li><li>Assists in curriculum planning, instructional innovation, and technology integration.</li><li>Monitors teacher gradebooks and Moodle shells.</li><li>Provides leadership in teaching techniques, innovation, class organization, classroom management, and coordinates student teachers.</li><li>Serves as the acting Principal in the absence of the Middle School Principal.</li><li>Attends and actively contributes to the Area Leaders Meetings, as led by the President.</li></ul>2. Development of Faculty and Staff<ul><li>Supports faculty recruitment, hiring, and professional growth.</li><li>Assists in determining personnel needs.</li><li>Assists in developing the master schedule teaching assignments for the following school year.</li><li>Supervises the development of daily substitute schedules and evaluates substitute teachers in the Middle School.</li><li>Coordinates the revision of the teacher handbook.</li><li>Coordinates Interns in teaching positions.</li></ul>3. Curriculum Development<ul><li>Assists in the direction, supervision, and evaluation of the Middle School instructional program.</li><li>Supports the new course proposal process.</li><li>Facilitates the development of the Middle School master schedule.</li><li>Develops and monitors the faculty campus supervision schedules for before school, breaks, and lunch.</li><li>Collaborates with the MAP Coordinator to schedule and implement MAP testing in the Middle School.</li><li>Supervises extra and co-curricular activities at the direction of the Middle School Principal, with a need for after-school hours supervision (until the departure of late buses).</li><li>Attends and actively participates in Division Chair meetings, led by the Dean of Academics</li></ul>4. Student Life<ul><li>Implements and monitors the Middle School Student Code of Conduct.</li><li>Manages student attendance, interventions, and restorative justice practices.</li><li>Works closely with faculty and the Child Study Team to support student well-being.</li><li>Assists in health, safety, and student welfare initiatives.</li><li>Supports the Counseling Department to structure informative assemblies geared towards student advancement.</li></ul>5. Public Relations<ul><li>Acts as a liaison between the school and the community, taking into consideration the Golden Triangle as a model for parent-school partnerships.</li><li>Assists in organizing parent meetings, communications, and events as assigned by the Middle School Principal.</li></ul>6. Resource Management<ul><li>Assists in the planning and implementing of programs for the health, safety, and welfare of students.</li><li>Assumes responsibilities for the safety and administration of the school when applicable.</li><li>Monitors the maintenance of the school and school facilities; assist in the security of the building.</li><li>Assists in fire and earthquake drills.</li><li>Oversees faculty and advisors in the coordination of field trips, including budget, procedures, communications, and implementation of the Conscious Global Citizen model.</li></ul>7. Professional Growth<ul><li>Participates in professional growth activities.</li><li>Participates in professional organizations whose purpose is to improve administrative skills.</li><li>8.
