ACS Athens, a student-centered international school, embracing American educational philosophy, principles and values, is seeking to recruit a Physical Education (PE) Teacher. The PE Teacher reports to the relevant Principal (Elementary, Middle or High School).
Key Responsibilities
Core Instructional Delivery:
Provide Comprehensive Instruction: Deliver learning experiences in all aspects of physical education to students across primary and secondary levels, while creating an environment that supports student engagement and success.
Promote Wellness: Encourage health, fitness, and lifelong physical activity through inclusive, developmentally appropriate PE programs.
Adapt and Assess Effectively: Monitor student understanding and adapt instruction, assessments, or materials to meet evolving needs.
Innovate Instructional Strategies: Explore and apply innovative approaches—including educational technologies—to enhance student learning, confidence, and participation.
Integrate Technology: Use available digital tools and platforms to support instruction, engagement, and performance tracking.
Foster Inclusion: Demonstrate appreciation for individual differences and ensure equitable learning opportunities for all students.
Safety and Facility Oversight: Inspect, maintain, and manage physical education equipment, facilities, and storage areas to ensure maximum safety for all participants, in addition to strong knowledge of injury prevention.
Professional and Collaborative Duties:
Pursue Professional Growth: Actively engage in professional development to improve knowledge and practice in physical education and pedagogy.
Sportsmanship and Ethical Behavior: Explicitly teach and model principles of fair play, teamwork, respect, and ethical conduct, fostering positive character development through physical activity.
Collaborate with Teams: Share responsibility in achieving the goals and priorities of the grade level, team, or department.
Support Athletics Participation: Promote student involvement in school athletics and related extracurricular physical activities.
Fulfill Additional Duties: Carry out other responsibilities as assigned by the school leadership.
Qualifications:
Licensed to teach physical education by the Greek Ministry of Education (βεβα?ωση επετηρ?δας ιδιωτικ?ν εκπαιδευτικ?ν);
Bachelor's Degree, Master’s preferred, from an accredited college or university;
At least two years of relevant teaching experience, required;
Strong knowledge of sports education, fitness training, and injury prevention;
Familiarity with technology integration in PE instruction and data-driven assessment of student progress;
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, to students (native speaker fluency preferred);
Experience with differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of students;
Experience in an international or multicultural school setting is a plus;
Commitment to remain current in content knowledge and teaching strategies;
Display commitment to safeguarding and protection of children.

The High School Assistant Principal is expected to report on August 20, 2026, to engage in New Faculty Orientation and institutional training.
