What you'll do

- Operate LASER cutting tool
- Use inspection and measurement tools to validate assemblies
- Track and document prototyping processes and results
- Collaborate with engineers and team members and communicate proactively
- Perform calibrations on equipment

- Provide feedback on manufacturing methods and technologies
- Collaborate with design engineers to understand design intent and work towards solutions
- Conduct experiments following safety, quality, and efficiency standards

The prototyping lab in Athens Engineering Office is seeking a talented engineering technician to help advance Tesla’s mission of accelerating the world’s transition to sustainable energy. The prototyping lab supports engineering operations across Tesla.

Tracking and documentation of prototyping processes and results when necessary.
Collaborate openly with engineers and team members to find solutions, and proactively communicate with them through verbal, email, phone, and other internal electronic channels.
Perform calibrations on equipment.
Complete required preventive maintenance.
Provide feedback on manufacturing methods and technologies.
Collaborate with design engineers to gain an in-depth understanding of the design intend and independently work towards the most effective solution.
Conduct experiments in accordance with all safety, quality, and efficiency standards by following written and verbal work instructions.
Design fixtures and equipment for testing in prototype and production environment.
Maintain clean and safe work areas.

Knowledge and understanding of engineering drawings, documents, and GD&T
Thorough knowledge in measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauge pins, bore gauges, optical comparator, etc.

Demonstrate innovation, technical excellence, attention to detail and self-direction.
Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and mathematical competency
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment with tight deadline.
English fluently in speaking, reading and writing.
Ability to lift 25 kg on a daily basis.
