What you'll do
- Align management practices with the organization’s vision, values, standards and policies.
- Build clear and open communication channels with all departments.
- Oversee property maintenance and support capital projects in line with engineering standards and legislation.
- Monitor financial operations and prepare the annual business plan.
- Implement and monitor programs that maintain hotel assets.
- Supervise the fire protection and preventive maintenance program.
- Inspect fire and engineering safety features to ensure peak efficiency.
- Inspect plant and equipment and ensure required government inspections are documented.
- Manage external contracts to maximize service efficiency.
- Maintain knowledge of fire evacuation, emergency procedures and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Ensure colleagues understand their legally defined duty of care.
- Keep accurate records for all plant and equipment.
- Train, develop, coach and mentor colleagues.
- Develop policies and formulate direction and strategy where required.
- Review weekly SMART Plans with direct reports and follow up on agreed objectives.
- Participate in sales presentations, property tours and customer meetings.
- Follow up monthly on GSQ action plans with direct reports.
- Conduct monthly walkthroughs with Engineering, Housekeeping and DH.
- Report monthly on key issues, developments, outstanding works and personal and financial concerns.
- Manage assigned departments directly.
Key requirements
- 5+ years' experience
- Electrical and mechanical engineering expertise.
- Property maintenance and facility maintenance management.
- Electrical systems (MV-LV), building automation systems, security systems and Building Management Systems (BMS).
- HVAC systems and pumping stations.
- Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
- Fire protection and preventive maintenance, with health and safety compliance.
- Budget and financial management.
- Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering
