At Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens (ranked No. 17 in the World’s 50 Best Hotels), we are seeking an exceptional Director of Banquet to lead our Banquet Operations team.
As Director of Banquet, you will be a passionate hospitality leader with extensive experience in luxury hotel or resort banquet operations. You will oversee the planning and execution of world-class events, ensuring flawless service delivery while inspiring, developing, and leading a high-performing team. Working closely with Catering, Culinary, Stewarding, Sales, and other operational departments, you will play a key role in creating memorable guest experiences and driving operational excellence and profitability. What You Will Do
Hire, train, motivate, discipline, direct and supervise the work of all employees in the Banquet Department, inclusive of permanent, seasonal and outsourced. Develop Assistant Managers, and Supervisors through coaching, mentoring, performance management and succession planning initiatives.
Develop and maintain all training programs on a continual basis to insure a high degree of professionalism within the staff.
Schedule all employees to maintain the service standards of Four Seasons while operating within budgeted labour cost guidelines. Ensure optimal workforce planning and scheduling to maintain Four Seasons service standards while achieving labour productivity and budget targets.
Ensure proper care, security and maintenance of hotel equipment through proper supervision of service personnel.
Assume responsibility for shift supervisory duties on a regular basis, especially with VIP and "at cost" functions.
Coordinate and insure the needs of the Catering department with the managers of interrelated departments. Foster effective collaboration between Catering, Culinary, Stewarding, Engineering, Housekeeping, Security and other operational departments to ensure seamless event execution.
Communicate directly with the hosts of functions and goes over the details of the function. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, meeting planners and event hosts, ensuring event expectations are understood, exceeded and professionally managed.
What You Bring
2–3 years of experience in a senior management role within a luxury hotel or resort banquet or food & beverage operation.
Proven leadership experience managing large, diverse operational teams in a fast-paced environment.
Strong knowledge of banquet operations, event execution, labor planning, budgeting, and financial management.
Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to build strong relationships with clients while collaborating effectively across multiple departments.
A hands-on leadership style with a passion for coaching, developing, and inspiring teams.
Fluency in English is essential; Greek will be considered an advantage.
