What you'll do
- Define and evolve the squad’s test automation strategy, coverage targets, risk-based approach, and quality gates
- Set and enforce Definition of Done criteria for automation, regression scope, and non-functional checks
- Establish and monitor quality KPIs, including pass rates, flaky tests, defect leakage, and trends
- Design, implement, and maintain automated tests for REST APIs using JUnit
- Validate API contracts, versioning, backward compatibility, error scenarios, and authorization patterns
- Build integration test coverage for microservices and integration flows
- Validate persistence and data integrity using SQL against Microsoft SQL Server
- Implement and maintain UI automation for critical user journeys
- Debug API and UI interaction issues with engineers
- Design and execute performance and load tests, including baselines and throughput and latency measurements
- Integrate automated suites into CI/CD pipelines and improve reliability and speed through parallelization and test selection
- Mentor functional QAs through pairing, code reviews, training, and contribution guidance
Key requirements
- 5+ years' experience
- Java test automation & JUnit
- API automation with RestAssured or Karate and REST APIs
- Playwright UI automation and integration testing
- Performance testing with Apache JMeter
- CI/CD pipelines using Git and Azure DevOps
- SQL and Microsoft SQL Server
