What you'll do
- Greet, welcome and escort guests to their tables
- Provide prompt, courteous service and attend to guests’ needs and preferences
- Thank guests and convey anticipation for their next visit
- Explain menu items and answer questions about food and drinks
- Record orders and transactions in Point-of-Sale (POS) systems
- Close POS shifts and reconcile cash and credit card settlements
- Keep restaurant front- and back-of-house areas clean and organized
- Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff for timely food and beverage delivery
- Communicate menu questions, allergies, dietary needs and special requests to the kitchen
Key requirements
- 1+ years' experience
- Customer service and food and beverage service
- Order taking, menu knowledge and food allergy and dietary-needs handling
- Point-of-Sale (POS) systems and cash and credit card settlement
- Health, safety, and sanitation regulations; restaurant cleanliness and organization
- Kitchen and bar coordination
- English language, planning and organization, multitasking, attention to detail, and communication and interpersonal skills
- Hospitality Managementpreferred
