About the job

As part of our continuous growth and operational expansion, we are looking for a Head of Facilities & Building Maintenance to lead the planning, coordination and execution of building maintenance activities across our facilities. The role is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient and compliant operation of building infrastructure, while coordinating internal teams, external contractors and technical partners.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Facilities & Building Maintenance function, establishing objectives, priorities, and performance standards to ensure the efficient operation of all company facilities.

  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies and procedures covering preventive, corrective, predictive, and improvement maintenance activities.

  • Plan, prioritize and oversee maintenance operations, technical interventions and facility improvement projects across company premises.

  • Lead and supervise facility improvement, renovation, expansion, and construction projects, ensuring delivery according to quality, timeline, budget, and compliance requirements.

  • Manage facility-related capital expenditure (CAPEX) and operational expenditure (OPEX) budgets, ensuring effective cost control and resource optimization.

  • Conduct site inspections and technical assessments in collaboration with engineers, technicians, contractors and external partners.

  • Prepare, review and validate technical reports, specifications, scopes of work and documentation related to maintenance activities and building projects.

  • Coordinate procurement requests, evaluate technical offers and support vendor selection in cooperation with the Procurement Department.

  • Supervise contractors, subcontractors and technical service providers, ensuring quality, timeline, cost and safety requirements are met.

  • Act as the main point of contact for internal departments regarding building maintenance needs, technical requests and facility-related issues.

  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environment procedures, internal policies, regulatory requirements and applicable quality standards.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to facility reliability, operational efficiency, cost control and service quality.

  • Manage, guide and develop the Facilities & Building Maintenance team, fostering accountability, collaboration and a hands-on problem-solving mindset.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a relevant technical field, preferably Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering.

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in facilities, building maintenance, technical operations or industrial maintenance, including team coordination or managerial responsibility.

  • Strong experience in managing building maintenance activities, technical projects, contractors and external service providers.

  • Ability to read, understand and review technical drawings, layouts and specifications; AutoCAD knowledge will be considered an asset.

  • Solid knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance practices, technical documentation and facility improvement processes.

  • Very good knowledge of MS Office; experience with maintenance management systems or technical reporting tools will be considered an asset.

  • Very good command of English, both written and verbal.

  • Excellent leadership, organizational, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage priorities in a dynamic industrial environment.
