As a Technical Superintendent at BSM, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective technical management of assigned vessels. This role is strategically important in maintaining operational excellence and compliance, while serving as a vital link between ship and shore. You will provide technical guidance, oversee maintenance and repairs, manage budgets, and ensure adherence to international regulations and company standards, supporting both client satisfaction and fleet performance.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Promote and support BSM’s strategic goals by staying updated on regulations and participating in industry initiatives.</li><li>Ensure vessels meet contractual and regulatory requirements, including technical condition and certification compliance.</li><li>Maintain strong client relationships and communicate on technical, operational, and budgetary matters.</li><li>Provide technical and operational support to ship staff, including guidance on safety, maintenance, and drydock planning.</li><li>Monitor vessel performance, machinery condition, and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and safety.</li><li>Develop and oversee maintenance and repair plans, including major refits and drydock activities within budget and timelines.</li><li>Prepare and manage vessel budgets, forecasting costs for maintenance and regulatory compliance.</li><li>Conduct vessel inspections and audits, ensuring timely reporting and closure of findings.</li><li>Promote and implement health, safety, environmental, and quality standards on board.</li><li>Manage purchasing activities, ensuring timely supply of quality spare parts and compliance with procurement standards.</li><li>Coach and mentor ship staff, identify training needs, and support career development initiatives.</li><li>Contribute to continuous improvement of management systems and operational processes.</li></ul>Qualifications &amp; Experience<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or equivalent; or Chief Engineer’s qualification.</li><li>Minimum 3 years sailing experience as Senior Officer, or 3 years shore experience as Technical Superintendent in ship management or ownership.</li></ul>Skills &amp; Competencies<ul><li>Strong knowledge of vessel technical requirements and voyage regulations.</li><li>Excellent project management and organizational skills.</li><li>Strong negotiation and people management abilities.</li><li>Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.</li><li>Fluency in English and proficiency in PC applications.</li></ul>Why You Should Join Us!We offer a supportive environment, competitive compensation, and meaningful opportunities. Technical Superintendent

Monitor and control the safe and cost-efficient technical operation of assigned vessels using the available resources, the defined parameters of cost, commercial viability, and operational excellence in line with Owners’ expectations. &nbsp; Key Accountabilities: Technical Support<ul><li>Understand the customers’ contractual agreements to be able to deliver the ship management services for each vessel, in a cost-efficient manner.</li><li>Review the compliance of deliverables from subcontractors’ agreements and requirements to ensure the optimum, efficient, and safe operation of each assigned vessel.</li><li>Monitor the operations of equipment and machineries, identify potential discrepancies, and suggest solutions to enhance vessels’ efficiency, performance, and safety.</li><li>Participate in the development of maintenance and repairs plan. Ensure that time schedule, deliverables quality and budget are within the borders of the contractual agreement and organization’s procedure.</li><li>Project the requirements in maintenance and repairs activities, spare parts, and technical training of the vessels. Forecast the budget needed, report to Manager and remain within the limits of the established maintenance plan. Responsibilities:<ul><li>Organizes and implements courses of action for matters of technical nature arising onboard vessels.</li><li>Instructs, coordinates and monitors works / repairs.</li><li>Follows up on the maintenance status, condition and operation of assigned vessels and co-operates with the crew, in order to ensure that assigned vessels are operating in a safe and efficient manner.</li><li>Attends vessels and periodically sails on-board to ensure the technical condition of the equipment.</li><li>Monitors and verifies vessel’s performance, supervises repairs, reports findings, follows-up closure of defects etc.</li><li>Provides training and technical advice to shipboard personnel, as necessary.</li><li>Implements effectively preventive maintenance of ship’s hull, main machinery, deck machinery, etc.</li><li>Monitors Class and Flag State requirements and plans required surveys accordingly.</li><li>Deals with any damage repairs or modifications, preserving the vessels commercial competence.</li><li>Monitors all technical problems, major defects and follows-up, until corrective action is verified.</li><li>Controls and monitors the lub-oil and bunker quality and consumption.</li><li>Prepares repairs / conversions, dry-docking, special surveys, damage and voyage repairs, and specifications and supervises the execution of all such works.</li><li>Attends delivery of new acquisitions.</li></ul>Qualifications / Experience:1. Degree in Marine Engineering / Naval Architecture and minimum 6 years of office experience or Chief Engineer’s license, minimum 3 years of sea service as Chief Engineer and 1 year of office experience as Superintendent Engineer.2. Fluency in English.3. Computer literate.4. Excellent communication skills.5. Travel mobility.

Responsibilities:<ul><li>Regularly visits company’s vessels to report on their condition and/or supervise repairs.</li><li>Performs riding attendance as defined by the Maintenance Manager, including preparation for third-party inspections (e.g., terminals, port state, class, flag, P&amp;I), always ensuring compliance with the company's safety, quality, and environmental standards.</li><li>Monitors the repair and maintenance of vessels, offering similar support to the rest of the fleet vessels.&nbsp;</li><li>Attends dry dockings to ensure all tasks assigned by the Maintenance Manager and/or Technical SupEng are carried out to specification, ensuring the vessel is delivered in seaworthy condition and ready in all respects.</li><li>Assists in preparing dry dock and repair specifications.</li><li>Provides technical support to the personnel onboard.</li><li>Attends new acquisitions and vessel sales to new buyers.</li><li>Travels abroad to ports frequented by the company's vessels to conduct inspections, assist onboard personnel, and monitor the preparation of third-party inspections.</li></ul>Qualifications / Experience:<ul><li>Chief Engineer’s or 2nd&nbsp;Engineer’s license and minimum 3 years of sea service at these positions.</li><li>Office experience as Superintendent Engineer will be considered an asset.</li><li>Fluency in English.</li><li>Computer literate.</li><li>Travel mobility.</li></ul>
