Intellectica is recruiting a dynamic&nbsp;Civil Engineer&nbsp;on behalf of a leading group of companies primarily active in the construction sector, known for its innovative projects and commitment to excellence. The group is also involved in public-private partnership contracts, public works, private equity developments, real estate management of its own portfolio, and consulting services in the defense and security industry. Based in&nbsp;Chania, Greece&nbsp;and reporting to both the Managing Director and the Projects Director, the successful candidate will play a key role in monitoring and coordinating key engineering projects.Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:<ul><li>Designing and developing building projects using software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D</li><li>Analyzing data like topographic surveys, plans, and maps for effective project planning</li><li>Preparing design specifications and incorporating special features related to the project</li><li>Submitting permits and other required documents for construction projects</li><li>Testing asphalt, concrete, steel, and other materials to ensure they meet standards and specifications</li><li>Monitoring and coordinating construction activities to ensure adherence to schedules and budgets</li><li>Collecting offers for materials, supplies, and subcontractor services related to civil engineering systems</li><li>Supporting the preparation of budgets and rolling forecasts regarding civil engineering costs</li><li>Assisting in preparing and submitting offers, along with other members of the project team, for private and public tenders</li><li>Participating in project meetings and ensuring the proper implementation of civil engineering works</li><li>Preparing and issuing monthly updates to the client or the management team of the company</li><li>Collaborating with other departments to ensure seamless project execution</li><li>Any other task that may be required from time to time</li></ul>Professional experience &amp; qualifications of a successful candidate:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; A Master’s degree or certifications in relevant areas will be highly welcomed</li><li>At least 3 years of experience in the construction industry</li><li>Knowledge of Project Management tools, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office suite</li><li>Fluent in English and Greek (both written and verbal)</li></ul>Core competencies of a successful candidate:<ul><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills</li><li>Ambitious and driven, with an entrepreneurial mindset</li><li>Project management skills; ability to set priorities and manage deadlines</li><li>Strong analytical skills and the ability to evaluate risks and opportunities</li><li>Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment</li></ul>

Key Responsibilities:Safety, Security &amp; Environment:<ul><li>Ensures hotel is being operated in a safe &amp; effective manner.</li><li>Ensures the correct implementation Fire Life &amp; Safety (FLS) testing procedures.</li><li>Ensures the correct operation &amp; maintenance of the hotels FLS systems.</li><li>Ensures the correct implementation of all health and safety, energy control and management directives and that up-to-date records of all test certificates/licenses are kept.</li><li>Ensures that all contractors and in-house employee’s carry out their work, in accordance with and adherence to company, local and regional health and safety at work criteria.</li><li>Maintain contacts with local authorities such as fire department, electricity supply company, health inspectors, etc., to ensure that all requirements are being complied with and that assistance or advice will be readily available whenever required.</li><li>Holds regular meetings on energy conservation, fire training, employee communications, and health &amp; safety.</li><li>Reports environmental performance through dedicated IT systems and in POMEC reports.</li><li>Ensures all technicians have a good environmental understanding.&nbsp;</li></ul>Maintenance:<ul><li>Ensures the efficient operation &amp; maintenance of all mechanical &amp; electrical equipment.</li><li>Ensures the correct upkeep of the building and grounds.</li><li>Ensures operational equipment is being maintained effectively.</li><li>Ensures the correct implementation of an effective “trouble reporting”&nbsp;system.</li><li>Ensures an effective “planned preventative maintenance” system is in place for all M&amp;E equipment.</li><li>Allocation of duties to the appropriate engineering staff / contractors.</li><li>Operation of the hotels BMS system.</li><li>Ensure that all records of maintenance and testing are being kept.</li><li>Co-ordinates and supervises the work of service contractors to ensure that the terms of all such contracts for major plant and systems are fully implemented.</li><li>Identify and recommend improvements where required.</li></ul>Personnel:<ul><li>In conjunction with Human Resources, interview and make recommendations on suitable technical personnel for employment.</li><li>Supervision of&nbsp;contractors and outsource staff.</li></ul>Procurement:<ul><li>Assist in the negotiation for consumables and service contracts, ensuring the best value for money is obtained.</li><li>Ensure that adequate stock levels and spare part lists are in place.</li></ul>Projects:<ul><li>Gives relevant M&amp;E input into capital projects.</li><li>Management and administration of capital projects controlled at hotel level.</li></ul>General:<ul><li>To be aware of hotel financial targets and assist in cost reduction methods where necessary.</li><li>Production / updating of hotels 5-year capital and long-term plans.</li><li>Complete and produce regular reports and statistics as required by hotel and Group Director management.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Degree in Engineering or equivalent</li><li>&nbsp;Experience&nbsp;within the hospitality industry</li><li>Sound knowledge in Building Services Engineering and management</li><li>Good command in English</li></ul>
