Part of our nautical team on our River vessels, the Captain safely navigates our Viking Longships in compliance with all statutory regulations and ensures that guests feel comfortable. RIVER - Nautic - Captain

Part of our Galley team on our River vessels, the Trainee Cook will be learning more about the position and what it is like to work onboard one of our river ships. Training program can be completed in 2-5 weeks. Upon completion, Viking will consider you for the position for which you were trained. RIVER - Trainee Cook

The AMS Documentation Employee is responsible for ensuring customs declarations comply with the Advanced Manifest System (AMS) Regulations for MSC inbound cargo to the European Union, the People’s Republic of China, the Panama Canal, United Kingdom, India, United States, Canada and Mexico. The goal is to minimize delays and avoid Customs Fines and disciplinary actions. The Freight Rate Filing Employee is responsible for accurately filing ocean freight rates as agreed between the customer and MSC for specific transportation routes. This involves entering the information into our centralized database using our internal TMS application, streamlining the billing process for enhanced client convenience. Freight Rate Filing Employee

Responsibilities:<ul><li>Monitors the position lists for the vessels’ itineraries and dispatches documents, spares and supplies.</li><li>Communicates with agents to request dispatching instructions and ensures that the shipped items meet all local customs, country requirements and/or regulations.</li><li>Furnishes agents with the supporting documents and assists them if customs’ clearance procedures are required.</li><li>Follows up with the air way bills and the air freights shipments and ensures that consignments reach their final destination promptly.</li><li>Negotiates with forwarders to achieve the minimum level of forwarding expenses.</li><li>Evaluates and enriches the network of forwarders used by the company.</li><li>Oversees the forwarding and transportation arrangements worldwide.</li><li>Constantly cooperates with and informs all the departments about their dispatches and provides company with relevant statistical reports on forwarding operations whenever required.</li><li>Checks invoices, submits them electronically and controls the forwarding expenses.</li></ul>Qualifications / Experience:<ul><li>Bachelor degree in any discipline, preferably in shipping.</li><li>Master degree in a relevant field will be an asset.</li><li>Minimum 8 years of experience in a similar position in a forwarding or a shipping company.</li><li>Fluency in English.</li><li>Computer literacy.</li><li>Knowledge of Navision will be an asset.</li><li>Excellent communication and negotiation skills.</li></ul>
