Responsibilities:
Monitors the position lists for the vessels’ itineraries and dispatches documents, spares and supplies.
Communicates with agents to request dispatching instructions and ensures that the shipped items meet all local customs, country requirements and/or regulations.
Furnishes agents with the supporting documents and assists them if customs’ clearance procedures are required.
Follows up with the air way bills and the air freights shipments and ensures that consignments reach their final destination promptly.
Negotiates with forwarders to achieve the minimum level of forwarding expenses.
Evaluates and enriches the network of forwarders used by the company.
Oversees the forwarding and transportation arrangements worldwide.
Constantly cooperates with and informs all the departments about their dispatches and provides company with relevant statistical reports on forwarding operations whenever required.
Checks invoices, submits them electronically and controls the forwarding expenses.
Qualifications / Experience:
Bachelor degree in any discipline, preferably in shipping.
Master degree in a relevant field will be an asset.
Minimum 8 years of experience in a similar position in a forwarding or a shipping company.
Fluency in English.
Computer literacy.
Knowledge of Navision will be an asset.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
