ACS Athens, a student-centered international school embracing American educational philosophy, principles and values, is seeking to recruit an After School Swimming Instructor. This position plays a vital role in delivering high-quality swim instruction for students participating in the after-school program. The instructor will ensure a safe and engaging learning environment while supporting students' development in swimming techniques and water safety skills.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Prioritizes Safety:&nbsp;Ensures that all safety protocols are strictly implemented at all times</li><li>Supports Instruction:&nbsp;Assists in the instruction of the groups, as needed</li><li>Maintains Program Quality:&nbsp;Supports and maintains the quality standards of the after-school aquatics program</li><li>Manages Equipment:&nbsp;Manages and oversees the inventory and proper use of all swimming equipment</li><li>Assists with Participant Placement:&nbsp;Collaborates with fellow instructors for accurate and appropriate participant placements</li><li>Coordinates with Athletics Office:&nbsp;Collaborates with Athletics Office administrative assistants, as needed</li><li>Works with PE Coaches:&nbsp;Collaborates with Physical Education coaches for class swimming instruction, within working hours</li><li>Maintains Incident Logs:&nbsp;Maintains Logs of incident reports; collaborates with Health Office when needed</li><li>Liaises with Maintenance Providers:&nbsp;Collaborates with outsourced pool maintenance company as needed</li><li>Supports Competitions and events:&nbsp;Assists the Swimming Coordinator in the planning and execution of swimming competitions and events</li><li>Provides Feedback:&nbsp;Provides feedback to students and parents on progress and areas for improvement</li><li>Effective Communication:&nbsp;Communicates effectively with students, parents, and other staff members</li><li>Additional Responsibilities:&nbsp;Completes other related duties as assigned by Director of Athletics</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Education:&nbsp;Physical Education / Sport Science degree (specialty in Swimming)</li><li>Experience:&nbsp;Minimum of one year as a swimming coach; previous experience working with Swimming Academies required.</li><li>Certifications:<ul><li>Current certifications in CPR / First Aid</li><li>Current Lifeguard certification</li><li>Other Aquatics related certifications (will be considered)</li></ul></li><li>Skills:<ul><li>Strong swimming proficiency with in-depth knowledge of various strokes</li><li>Ability to work well with children of all ages and skill levels</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills</li><li>Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing in English</li><li>Commitment to safeguarding and protection of children</li></ul></li></ul>Application Procedure:To be considered for this vacancy, please complete&nbsp;<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScaHAc4TByQfYWuuLp0sdeTbIc8lDVKU68tpDwmM8GykVgKiw/viewform">this form</a>&nbsp;and submit in English:<ul><li>Resume/CV;</li><li>Cover letter, which should include a statement of how you connect to ACS Athens' mission;</li><li>The contact information for three professional references;</li><li>A brief self-introduction video (through&nbsp;<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://vimeo.com/record/start-recording?record_session_id=22b40ed3-3df4-42cc-a54e-257436a6a2f9">Vimeo</a>&nbsp;or any other supported video file) showcasing your professional background, key skills, and personal motivations for wanting to contribute to the mission and values of ACS Athens.</li></ul>
