marine training officer

Responsibilities:

• Prepares a gap analysis, then develops, implements and assesses training plans for the Company’s seafarers and office personnel related to vessel operations, as per the Company’s SMS.

• Delivers training on the Company’s procedures and processes to all new hires.

• Assesses the training outcome, confirming learners can apply the new knowledge or skills on their daily routine.

• Ensures the training of Company’s trainers and monitors their effectiveness and performance.

• Monitors training records and ensures compliance with maritime regulations (e.g., IMO, ISM Code).

• Evaluates training effectiveness and identifies areas for improvement or new needs.

• Prepares training material and stays up to date with industry best practices and regulations.

Qualifications / Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Naval Architecture or any relevant field.

• Postgraduate studies in a relevant field will be considered an asset.

• Minimum 6 years of experience in a similar position at a shipping company.

• Certifications on relevant topics (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 9002, ISO 14001, Train the Trainer, etc).

• Excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written.

• Travel mobility.

• Excellent communication, presentation and organization skills.
