Responsibilities:
- Supports all quality, health, safety, security and environmental matters.
- Assists his/her supervisor to follow up on the implementation of the emergency response plans, the ISM / ISPS / MLC codes, as well as of any other international or local regulations.
- Provides vessels with class and flag certificates necessary for trading, as instructed by his/her supervisor.
- Implements the Environmental Management System (EMS) and promotes the environmental awareness of the vessels and the office personnel.
- Monitors that the Company’s Safety and Environmental protection systems, policies and working instructions are properly and effectively implemented.
- Monitors and supplies the service of alcohol meters.
- Arranges and follows up on fresh water and crew drug and alcohol tests.
- Keeps record of vessels’ logbooks and endorsements.
- Enters all MSQ data in the Company’s electronic system.
- Inserts department’s invoices in the system and follows up on DAs.
Qualifications / Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies or in a relevant field.
- Postgraduate degree in Maritime Studies or in a relevant field will be considered an asset.
- Minimum 4 year of experience at the Safety & Quality department of a shipping company.
- Knowledge of ISM / ISPS / MLC.
- Computer literate.
- Fluency in English.
- Excellent communication skills.
