We’re looking for a Grant Writer & Project Manager with experience in Horizon Europe Pillar II and Public/EU Tenders proposals and a strong interest in artificial intelligence as an enabling technology. You don’t need to be a machine learning expert — but you should feel comfortable working with AI-focused research teams and translating technical ideas into strategic project concepts.

As part of our growing Technology department, you’ll help develop and secure funding for ambitious projects applying AI to high-impact areas like climate resilience, clean energy, sustainable agriculture, and healthcare innovation.

The key responsibilities of the Project Manager & Grant Writer will include:

• Design high-impact Public & Horizon Europe proposals in collaboration with researchers, domain experts, and industry partners

• Co-develop project concepts and strategic narratives that clearly position AI as a transformative enabler in Pillar II application areas

• Collaborate with international consortia, participate in collaborative writing sessions, and manage proposal timelines and contributions

• Interpret EU calls and policy documents to ensure alignment with strategic priorities and technical requirements

• Stay on top of funding opportunities, analyze fit with our AI innovation roadmap, and advise on go/no-go decisions

• Support early-stage project onboarding (e.g. work plan structuring, deliverable scoping, kickoff planning)

Who You Are: Skills & Experience

We’re looking for someone with 2+ Years Experience in Project Management and Grant Writing who’s ready to dive into a dynamic and forward-thinking environment. Here’s a snapshot of the skills we’d love to see:

Must-haves:

• 2+ years of experience in Horizon 2020/Horizon Europe Pillar II/Public proposal writing

• A BSc or MSc degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field

• A good grasp of applied AI concepts and technologies

• Familiarity with AI use cases in key sectors such as climate, energy, agriculture, and/or health

• Excellent English writing and communication skills — able to turn complex technical ideas into compelling, funder-friendly narratives

• Track record of successful proposals or deep involvement in multi-partner EU R&I projects

• Highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable navigating international, multidisciplinary environments

• Ability to travel abroad 2-4 times per year, for a short period of time.

Bonus Points If You have:

• Experience with budget preparation, grant submission portals

• Knowledge of AI policy and regulation, such as the AI Act, data governance, or trustworthy AI principles

• Experience working with research institutions, startups, or public sector actors

• Proficiency in collaborative tools and basic project tracking software

• Familiarity with broader European funding landscape (e.g. Digital Europe, EIC, national co-funding schemes)
