audit manager for eu institutions

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Audit Senior Manager to lead the delivery of audit and control services for EU Institutions. This role requires exceptional leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to quality to oversee complex projects and manage diverse teams.

The key responsibilities of this role will include:

• Leading financial audits of EU Institutions to ensure compliance with EU regulations (e.g., IFRS, IPSAS) and overseeing audit methods and deliverables
• Managing audit planning and execution across Europe and the Western Balkans, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness
• Leading, mentoring and managing audit teams to ensure quality and proper training
• Building strong relationships with EU Institutions, donors, auditees, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication
• Overseeing contract administration, budget monitoring, and ensuring deliverables meet client expectations
• Ensuring work meets quality standards, identifying risks, and implementing mitigation strategies
• Contributing to audit methodology development and implementing best practices to drive efficiency
• Frequent travel abroad 

To be successful at this role you need the following (hard and soft skills):

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CIA
• At least 10 years of experience in auditing, including years in a manager role
• Understanding of EU financial regulations, IFRS, and international auditing standards
• Proficiency in English; additional EU languages are an asset
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
• Experience in managing multicultural teams and cross-border assignments
• Excellent command of spoken and written Greek & English
