As a Commis Chef you will prepare, cook and present food based on pre-set recipes and unter the instructions of your supervisors, delivering the highest possible standards of service and food hygiene to all hotel guests.

What you’ll do

• Prepare specific food items and meal components at your station
• Follow the instructions and recommendations from the immediate superior to complete the daily tasks
• Collaborate with the rest of the culinary team to ensure high-quality food and service
• Keep your area of the kitchen safe and sanitary
• Stocktake and order supplies for your station
• Ensure the ingredients in the dish are the same as what is stated on the menu
• Operate and maintain all department equipment and report of malfunctioning
• Check periodically expiry dates and proper storage of food items in the section
• Assist in other areas of the kitchen when required

What we are looking for

• Proven experience as Chef de Partie (Cook B)
• A culinary degree
• Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods
• Ability to work in a team
• High energy, ability to work under pressure and good organizational skills
