What you'll do
- Design and 3D model mechanical components, assemblies, or fixtures for testing and validation
- Design mechanical components and assemblies for electromechanical systems and actuation mechanisms
- Develop precision motion systems including rotary or linear geartrains and structural components
- Translate functional system requirements into mechanical design requirements such as stiffness, strength, and tolerance
- Apply engineering calculations and simulations to support design decisions
- Rapidly prototype and iterate designs through testing and experimentation
- Participate in the assembly and debugging of prototypes and development hardware
- Perform tolerance analysis to evaluate the impact of fits, backlash, and manufacturing variation
- Support the transition of prototype designs toward product-ready hardware

MSc studies (ongoing) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Strong mathematical and physics background as well as analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
Experience with 3D CAD modeling and mechanical design principles.
Understanding thermodynamics and heat transfer will be considered a plus.
Understanding manufacturing processes.
Experience in drafting engineering drawings and conducting tolerance stack-up analysis.
Strong MATLAB programming skills will be considered a plus.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative challenging environment.
Strong interest in electromechanical systems, motors, actuators, and precision mechanisms
Hands-on mindset with interest in building, testing, and debugging mechanical systems
