  • EHS regulations and standards in Greece including chemical safety and waste management
  • Stakeholder management and Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) principles
  • Project management tools like Jira, Confluence, Sistema, and experience with CAD
  • Ability to read Mechanical, Electrical, and Architectural permit sets and Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)

About the job

Tesla is seeking an ambitious EHS Engineer to support Engineering teams in Athens. In this role, you will act as the technical expert in EHS and will drive first-principles solutions for Engineering teams. You will directly lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of EHS programs that are fit for the unique operations on-site. You will systematically document risks in the labs using risk assessments and find solutions with stakeholders to continuously drive down these risks.  

You will also assist with safe design, build, and commissioning for machines, test setups and internal products, and work to standardize EHS best-practices with other Engineering operations globally. You will support management of change and new product, process or equipment introduction, specifically pertaining to new materials, machines, and manual or semi-manual research and development processes. 

You will use Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) principles to drive positive safety, health and environmental outcomes with site stakeholders, with a focus on engagement, event learning, and a systems-level problem solving.

  • Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of labs and equipment for stakeholders in Drive Systems, Metallurgy, Materials Chemistry, and others

  • Implement structured and rigorous risk mitigation solutions for identified hazards alongside business stakeholders

  • Proactively ensure compliance with EHS regulations, standards, and best-practices in Greece, including chemical safety, waste management, emergency preparedness, training, among others

  • Lead the deployment of internal EHS tools for Engineering teams to streamline operations and legal compliance

  • Drive continuous improvement for EHS programs (LOTO, Machine Safety, Hazard Communication, Emergency Response, Ergonomics, Education / Training, Risk Assessment, Incident Analysis)

  • Manage stakeholders and lead cross-departmental initiatives to meet risk reduction targets

  • Support day-to-day EHS escalations from Engineering

Τι θα έχετε μαζί σας

  • B. S. in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or other relevant major)

  • Fluency in English and Greek language; additional languages are a plus

  • 2+ years of relevant professional experience in an Engineering EHS position, with a focus in Greek regulation

  • Experience in facilitating risk assessment and process hazard assessment methodologies, such as HAZIDs, HAZOPs, LOPAs, DHAs or ISO-12100 compliant Machine Risk Assessments

  • Experience in developing and managing electrical safety for high voltage (>50V) systems, including: LOTO procedures, switching programs, utility-level clearances, as well as supporting field verification and emergency response

  • Work experience in metallurgy, drive systems, battery engineering, semiconductor or other high-tech high-risk industry

  • Work experience with project management tools and methodologies (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Sistema, CAD) 

  • Working ability to read and understand Mechanical, Electrical, and Architectural permit sets, CAD drawings, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)
