About the job

Responsibilities:

  • Provides support, advice and assistance on all electrical related matters pertaining to the operation of the Company’s vessels and in line with the Company’s policies, maritime industry’s rules, regulations and standards.

  • Assists and guides crew on the effective implementation of vessels’ PMS.

  • Attends vessels at ports of call and periodically sails with them to ensure proper implementation of PMS and assist crew on scheduled and unscheduled electrical works.

  • Issues attendance reports, including comments for the vessels’ condition and equipment, as well as for the crew performance.

  • Prepares repairs / conversions, dry-docking, special surveys, damage and voyage repairs, and specifications and supervising the execution of all electrical related works.

  • Cooperates with the Technical superintendents to achieve optimum vessels’ performance.

  • Organizes repairs at workshops in cooperation with the Technical superintendents.

  • Assists the PMS team with proper record keeping of all the electrical related instruments and equipment onboard.

Qualifications / Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.

  • Minimum 2 years of similar experience at the Technical department of a ship-owning company, preferably with bulk carriers.

  • A Master's degree in a relevant field will be considered an asset.

  • Fluency in English.

  • Computer literate.
