lead project manager - tech

As our Lead Project Manager you will drive how we prioritize and deliver technology. Leading a team of 4 Project Managers, you will own the demand pipeline and personally drive our highest-impact projects to delivery.

Reporting to the Head of Product Delivery & Quality, you will partner with IT & Business leaders to align the technology portfolio with Public Groups’ strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities

Demand & Portfolio Management

• Own demand intake and pipeline transparency; drive portfolio reviews with the leadership forum

• Facilitate prioritization decisions balancing strategic goals, resource capacity, and business value

• Ensure sound business case methodology is applied to new initiatives, with GO/NO-GO decisions tracked with the business

Project Delivery & Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor a team of 4 Tech Project Managers

• Take direct, hands-on ownership of critical projects across Digital, ERP, Customer Experience, and Retail domains — not just oversight, but active delivery accountability

• Track performance of PublicNEXT's delivery framework and drive continuous improvements

Visibility & Stakeholder Alignment

• Establish clear KPIs and reporting to keep leadership informed on portfolio health

• Drive trade-off decisions in cases of capacity constraints

• Communicate project and portfolio status concisely to senior leadership

What You Bring

• A technology career with 12+ years of total IT experience, that started hands-on in software projects and evolved into project delivery and portfolio management

• Proven track record of owning complex, cross-functional technology initiatives end-to-end, not just coordinating them

• Solid command of both Agile and traditional delivery methodologies — you know when to apply which

• Strong ability to manage stakeholder relationships and communicate at executive level

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related field
