What you'll do
- Prepare, review, and maintain maintenance SOPs and work instructions
- Support operation and maintenance of HVAC, ventilation, pumps, and plumbing systems
- Plan, supervise, and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance activities
- Review mechanical design documents, as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and supplier documentation
- Participate in ORAT activities including system trials, readiness inspections, and defect reporting
- Investigate mechanical failures and support root cause analysis
- Implement corrective and preventive actions
- Manage defects during Defect Liability and warranty periods
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, defects, work orders, and maintenance activities in CMMS
Key requirements
- 4+ years' experience
- Mechanical maintenance of large-scale facilities and critical infrastructure
- Preventive maintenance planning and execution
- CMMS usage and data management
- Maintenance SOPs preparation and implementation
- Mechanical systems operation and maintenance including HVAC, pumps, ventilation, and plumbing
- Root cause analysis, defect diagnosis, and troubleshooting
- Asset handover processes and ORAT/commissioning support
- Mechanical design documents review and maintenance-related documentation
- Writing and using checklists and work instructions
- Inspection regimes and defect management
- Strong organizational and communication skills

International Airport of Heraklion, Crete S.A. is currently looking for a: Mechanical Engineer (Maintenance) Responsibilities
Prepares, reviews, and maintains maintenance SOPs, work instructions, including maintenance-related inputs to the Aerodrome Manual.
Supports operation and maintenance of airport mechanical systems, including HVAC, ventilation, pumps, and plumbing / drainage services.
Plans, supervises, and monitors preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
Reviews mechanical design documents, as-built drawings, O&M manuals, test reports, and supplier documentation.
Participates in ORAT activities, including system trials, readiness inspections, failure simulations, snagging, and defect reporting.
Investigates mechanical failures, supports root cause analysis, and implements corrective and preventive actions.
Supports management of defects during the Defect Liability Period (DLP) and warranty periods.
Aids with the development and maintains accurate records of inspections, defects, work orders, and maintenance activities in the CMMS.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, or Asset Management is considered an advantage
4-7 years of experience in mechanical maintenance of large-scale facilities, industrial plants, critical infrastructure, or airport environments
Experience in CMMS, preventive maintenance planning, asset handover, or ORAT / commissioning support is an advantage
Ability to prepare and implement maintenance SOPs, procedures, inspection regimes, and checklists
Very good command of English and Greek language, both oral and written
Competencies
