Intellectica is recruiting a Social Media Editor on behalf of its client, a leading media group strengthening the digital operations of a high-traffic, digital-first news platform. The organization operates in a fast-paced newsroom environment, producing real-time journalism and platform-native storytelling for mass B2C audiences.
The Junior Social Media Manager / Editor will support daily execution across social channels, translating editorial output into high-performing posts, stories, and short-form assets. The role reports to the Head of the Website and collaborates closely with journalists/editors and video production to ensure a consistent, high-frequency and brand-aligned social presence.
Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:
Publishing and scheduling daily content across key platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X/Twitter, YouTube, etc.)
Writing platform-native copy (captions, headlines, CTAs) and adapting tone/format per channel
Turning breaking news and newsroom content into engaging social posts (cards, carousels, stories, reels)
Coordinating with journalists/editors to ensure speed, accuracy, and alignment
Community management: monitoring comments/messages and escalating sensitive topics when needed
Supporting basic visual editing (templates, simple motion, cropping, thumbnails, subtitles)
Tracking performance (reach, engagement, watch time) and optimizing based on insights
Monitoring trends, formats, and platform updates; suggesting experiments (A/B hooks, post types)
Supporting live coverage moments (events, political developments, breaking stories) when required
Any other task that may be required from time to time
Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Media Studies, or related field
1–3 years of hands-on experience in social media, digital publishing, or content production (internships welcome)
Strong understanding of platform mechanics and what drives engagement (especially IG/TikTok)
Familiarity with tools such as Canva, CapCut, TikTok Studio, Meta Business Suite (or equivalent)
Ability to work fast and accurately under tight deadlines and high posting frequency
Portfolio or examples of social work (links/screenshots acceptable)
Fluency in Greek and working proficiency in English (written and spoken)
