mid-level data engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our technology team. This role will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines, as well as executing large-scale data migrations and transformations for banking or financial services industry.

The key responsibilities : 

• Design and implement scalable and reliable data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and delivery.

• Execute end-to-end data migration projects from legacy systems to modern platforms.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders and data analysts to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

• Extract, cleanse, and transform structured and unstructured data from multiple  systems.

• Ensure data quality, consistency, and security in compliance with regulatory and internal standards.

• Optimize data workflows for performance and cost-efficiency, especially in cloud or hybrid environments.

To be successful at this role you need the following (hard and soft skills):

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.

• 3+ years of experience in data engineering roles

• Proven experience in data extraction, data analysis, and data migration

• Knowledge of ETL tools and data orchestration frameworks 

• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL)

• Skilled in Python, Scala, or Java for data processing and automation.

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud data platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).

• Experience in the banking or financial service industry

• Good understanding of data governance, security, and compliance.
