mid-level devops engineer

The ideal candidate will join our Cloud & Managed Services team, playing a pivotal role in the deployment, day-to-day management, and ongoing stability of mission-critical applications across both production and UAT environments. This role demands a proactive, detail-oriented professional who can ensure operational excellence, support seamless delivery pipelines, and uphold service continuity in a dynamic, fast-paced tech ecosystem.

The key responsibilities of this role will include:

• Ensure the deployment, monitoring, and ongoing stability of mission-critical applications across production and UAT environments.

• Manage and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Azure DevOps and Jenkins to support continuous delivery and rapid iteration cycles

• Design and implement automation solutions using Python to streamline operational workflows and reduce manual intervention.

• Oversee the configuration, scaling, and health of containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure Container Apps.

• Apply Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to maintain system reliability, performance, and uptime, including networking, backup, and basic DBA operations.

• Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex infrastructure and deployment issues to ensure seamless system operations.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with development, QA, and product teams to align DevOps practices with business and technical goals.

• Maintain robust documentation of infrastructure, processes, and configurations to ensure transparency and reproducibility.

• Monitor system performance and implement improvements to enhance scalability, security, and efficiency.

• Contribute to the adoption and evolution of DevOps best practices, cloud-native architecture, and infrastructure as code (IaC) methodologies.

To be successful at this role you need the following (hard and soft skills):

• Up to 4 years of professional experience as a DevOps Engineer, ideally with practical exposure to Azure DevOps Pipelines.

• Education: A BSc or MSc degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field

• Development Background: Previous experience in software development is essential

• Troubleshooting Expertise: Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills to resolve complex operational issues

• Automation & Scripting: Strong proficiency in Python for automation tasks.

• CI/CD & DevOps Tools: Extensive experience with Azure DevOps pipelines, Jenkins, and automation workflows

• Cloud & Containerization: Hands-on experience in cloud-native environments with Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure Container Apps

• SRE & Operations: Experience with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, including networking, backups, and database administration (DBA) duties.

• Communication & Collaboration: Ability to communicate effectively, build rapport with teams, and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously

• Azure Expertise: Hands-on experience with Azure Cloud and its tools (Azure Fundamentals certification is a plus)

• Project Management Tools: Familiarity with Jira for tracking work and project progress would be an advantage

• Service Mesh Knowledge: Experience with Istio is considered a strong advantage.
