Job Description
Platform & Infrastructure Management
Own the availability, performance and stability of antenna.gr and all associated digital properties.
Lead incident management: define SLAs/SLOs, drive rapid resolution and conduct thorough post-mortems.
Oversee CDN strategy, video streaming pipelines and adaptive bitrate (ABR) delivery for live and on-demand content.
Plan and execute infrastructure scaling to handle traffic spikes during major live broadcasts and news events.
Technical Leadership & Team Management
Lead and develop a team of DevOps engineers, site reliability engineers (SREs) and technical operations specialists.
Define and enforce engineering best practices: CI/CD pipelines, deployment procedures, change management and on-call protocols.
Partner closely with product, development and editorial teams to align technical operations with business priorities.
Recruit, mentor and evaluate technical staff; foster a culture of ownership, automation and continuous improvement.
Streaming & Content Delivery
Manage live-streaming operations for ANT1 TV broadcasts, sports events (e.g., Formula 1) and breaking news.
Collaborate with the broadcast engineering team to integrate OTT and traditional broadcast workflows.
Monitor video quality metrics (buffering ratio, start-up time, error rate) and drive continuous improvements.
Evaluate and implement third-party streaming technologies, CDN partners and monitoring tools.
Security, Compliance & Risk
Ensure compliance with GDPR and Greek/EU data protection regulations across all digital platforms.
Oversee DRM (Digital Rights Management) systems and content protection policies.
Lead vulnerability management, security patching and disaster recovery planning.
Vendor & CDN Management
Act as the primary technical point of contact for platform vendors, CDN providers and third-party technology partners.
Lead commercial and technical negotiations with CDN vendors (e.g., Akamai, Cloudflare, Fastly) — evaluating contracts, SLAs and performance commitments.
Manage vendor onboarding, performance reviews and escalations; maintain strong, productive relationships at both technical and account levels.
Evaluate new vendor solutions and conduct PoCs (Proof of Concepts) to ensure the platform stays current with industry best practices.
Collaborate with procurement and legal teams on vendor agreements, renewals and cost optimization.
Monitoring, Reporting & Cost Governance
Define and maintain observability standards: logging, metrics, alerting and dashboards across all services.
Prepare and present operational KPIs, uptime reports and infrastructure cost analyses to senior leadership.
Drive cost optimization across cloud and CDN spend without compromising reliability or performance.
Requirements
