What you'll do
- Generate ideas for stories and features from multiple sources
- Pitch story ideas to chief editors
- Research, verify, and collect evidence and information to support stories
- Identify and manage technical crews for location shoots
- Provide directorial input to crews on filming or recording
- Operate portable digital video cameras and equipment
- Produce complete news packages for broadcast
- Prepare and present material on air for pre-recorded and live broadcasts
- Identify, brief, and interview potential interviewees for live and recorded segments
- Collaborate with editors to complete programmes or items
- Develop and maintain local contacts and perform public relations duties
- Understand and comply with media law and industry codes of conduct
