(pinewood) educational technology specialist

The Educational Technology Specialist guides students and faculty in utilizing technology to enhance instruction and student outcomes and supports innovative instructional practices. Emphasis is placed on creating a support structure that assists classroom teachers in leveraging technology to create a personalized learning environment.

Scope of the Position

The Educational Technology Specialist reports to the Elementary and Middle/High school Principals and works closely with faculty and students.. The full time position is for a one year period and is composed of teaching technology classes in the Elementary School and providing schoolwide educational technology support.

Teaching Responsibilities

Teach technology lessons to elementary students each week in Grades 1-6 through engaging and interactive learning experiences aligned with elementary standards.

Support elementary students in developing foundational digital and AI literacy skills Foster a supportive classroom environment where elementary students are encouraged to explore and create with technology through hands-on projects and activities.

Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in educational technology and AI

Ed-Tech Responsibilities

• Support the use of educational technology through daily advising, collaborating, and training of teachers both in and out of the classroom.

• Create and lead professional learning activities/sessions

• Participate in the committee to create, maintain, and oversee the implementation of the schoolwide technology plan.

• Support the continued development and use of the schools Acceptable Use Policy, promoting a culture of responsible digital citizenship.

• Continue to keep up-to-date with the rapidly changing landscape of educational technology and AI and share resources with the faculty and staff

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or higher in IT

• Valid teaching certification / license relevant to the position

• Native or near native English speaker
