About the job

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Electrical Engineer with a strong background in digital systems, specifically applied within the retail sector. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining digital and centralized control & monitoring (CCM) systems in retail environments, with a particular focus on retail stores. This role requires a blend of technical proficiency, project management, and a keen understanding of the unique operational needs of retail outlets.

 

What your day to day will include:

  • Designing, developing, and implementing digital systems and solutions tailored for retail environments, ensuring seamless integration with existing store infrastructure.

  • Leading the installation, configuration, and maintenance of centralized control and monitoring (CCM) systems to optimize store operations, energy management, and security.

  • Collaborating with internal teams, vendors, and store managers to assess needs, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical support for deployed systems.

  • Conducting site surveys and technical evaluations to recommend upgrades or enhancements for digital systems within OPAP retail stores.

  • Ensuring all systems comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and OPAP’s operational guidelines.

  • Preparing technical documentation, system diagrams, and user manuals for installed solutions.

  • Monitoring technological trends and proposing innovative solutions to enhance customer experience and store efficiency.

  • Managing the preparation of tenders and oversee procurement processes for digital and CCM system components, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery in alignment with project requirements.

 

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

  • Proven experience (5+ years) working with digital systems in retail or similar environments.

  • Strong knowledge of CCM systems, automation, and networked control solutions.

  • Familiarity with the operational aspects of OPAP retail stores is highly desirable.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Proficiency in relevant software tools for system design, simulation, and monitoring.

  • Effective communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ability to travel to various OPAP retail locations as required.

  • Experience with IoT devices and smart retail technologies.

  • Knowledge of energy management and security systems relevant to retail.

  • Project management certification or experience leading technical projects.

  • Understanding of Greek retail market and regulatory requirements (for OPAP stores in Greece).

  • Proficient user of the English language.

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications.
