What you'll do
- Review civil engineering designs, plans, materials, and construction procedures against project requirements and codes
- Verify construction work complies with approved design specifications
- Conduct regular site inspections for compliance with design, industry, and safety requirements
- Oversee quality control and assurance procedures for civil construction activities
- Identify construction issues, conflicts, discrepancies, delays, and schedule risks, and coordinate solutions
- Identify civil construction risks and develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans
- Evaluate site progress, including progress payments, change orders, and contractor claims
- Review contractor claims and support fair, timely dispute and claim resolution
- Monitor regulatory and standards changes and confirm compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Review approved document lists and ensure correct execution of final For Construction versions
- Evaluate site updates, red-marked documents, and as-built documentation with the engineering team
- Review and address Non-Conformance Reports with the engineering team
- Coordinate communication among the contractor, engineering team, and site manager
- Oversee civil project closeout, including documentation, punch-list items, final inspections, and owner handover
