The Greek leading Biscuits &amp; Bakery company Ε.J. PAPADOPOULOS S.A.&nbsp; is seeking to employ a talented, driven &amp; committed: Research &amp; Development Sensory Technologist &nbsp;to join the R&amp;D team in Athens&nbsp;The role:&nbsp;The candidate will be part of the R&amp;D Sensory team, reporting to R&amp;D Sensory &amp; Pilot Manager, participating in all the activities related to sensory tests, panel management, data analysis, and presentation of sensory results that help to guide R&amp;D project teams and other internal collaborators.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Design and execute sensory evaluation studies</li><li>Prepare samples according to standardized protocols</li><li>Coordinate and support sensory panels during testing sessions</li><li>Perform statistical analysis using statistical software</li><li>Generate concise, informative reports and/or verbally present complex technical information to technical and non-technical audiences.</li><li>Maintain sensory lab organization, materials and documentation.</li><li>Develop and optimize sensory testing methodologies and protocols</li><li>Train and manage sensory panels</li><li>Product development and sample preparation for panel training</li><li>Collaborate cross- functionally with R&amp;D, Marketing, and Quality teams</li><li>Staying current with literature and information about sensory evaluation</li><li>Stay up to date with industry trends and innovations in sensory science</li></ul>&nbsp;Qualifications:<ul><li>Preferably 1-4 years of experience, in sensory evaluation preferably in a food company</li><li>Bachelor’s degree in food science or a related field</li><li>Master’s degree in Sensory Science or a related discipline (preferred)</li><li>Demonstrated knowledge and experience of Sensory and Consumer testing methodologies including descriptive analysis- panel moderating- discrimination testing- consumer research- questionnaire design- data analysis and interpretation.</li><li>Developed soft skills required for effective data, analysis, presentation and business influence based on results</li><li>Proficiency in statistical tools (e.g. XLSTAT)</li><li>Fluent in English</li><li>Time management and organizational skills</li><li>Able to multitask- work alone and in a team</li><li>Solid verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills&nbsp;</li><li>Self-discipline, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines</li><li>High degree of personal and professional ethics and integrity&nbsp;</li></ul>&nbsp;&nbsp;

Research & Development Sensory Technologist

This role combines Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) with engineering and AI-based vision systems. The HSE Engineer will be responsible for the implementation, calibration, maintenance and continuous improvement of AI vision systems used to monitor safety, environmental compliance and operational risks. In parallel, the role will support the Environment Managers in monitoring, data collection and compliance activities, helping move both plants toward data-driven HSE management. You will act as the technical link between HSE, production and digital systems.&nbsp;Responsibilities<ul><li>Support the deployment, calibration and operation of AI vision systems used for:</li></ul><ul><li></li></ul><ul><li>Safety behaviour and PPE monitoring</li><li>Traffic &amp; pedestrian segregation</li><li>Environmental risk visibility (e.g. dust, smoke, spills)</li></ul><ul><li>Perform system checks, troubleshooting and performance tuning in cooperation with IT and technology vendors</li></ul><ul><li>Support Health &amp; Safety Managers in:<ul><li>Incident investigation and near-miss analysis using video-based data</li><li>Behavioural safety monitoring and risk assessments</li></ul></li></ul><ul><li>Support Environment Managers in:<ul><li>Environmental monitoring and data collection</li><li>Environmental KPI tracking and reporting</li></ul></li><li>Analyse HSE &amp; environmental data and support the development of reports and dashboards (Excel / Power BI)</li><li>Train supervisors and operators on system use and alert interpretation</li><li>Contribute to cross-site standardisation and continuous improvement initiatives</li></ul>&nbsp;Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial)</li><li>or Environmental / Applied Sciences</li><li>Basic familiarity with:<ul><li>Cameras / vision systems</li><li>Industrial environments</li><li>Data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI)</li></ul></li><li>Hands-on mindset, strong problem-solving skills and ability to work on the shop floor</li></ul>&nbsp;Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Exposure to computer vision or industrial camera systems, including AI model tuning in demanding industrial environments (e.g. glare, reflective surfaces, heat, moving equipment)</li><li>Exposure to Health &amp; Safety processes, such as incident investigation, near-miss reporting, risk assessments, or behavioural safety programmes</li><li>Exposure to environmental monitoring and reporting, participation in audits or inspections, and familiarity with ISO 14001 and/or local environmental regulations</li></ul>&nbsp;Benefits<ul><li>Competitive compensation and benefits package</li><li>Ongoing professional training and development opportunities</li></ul>
