The American College of Thessaloniki (ACT) is seeking applications for a faculty position in Psychology at the rank of Associate/Full Professor who would also serve as the Coordinator of the BS in Psychology and MS in Industrial &amp; Organizational Psychology programs. The position is a full-time assignment for one year starting July 1st, 2025 and may be renewable upon agreement of all parties. In addition to teaching/scholarly work, the Psychology Coordinator will provide a high standard of academic-related administrative support to the program under the guidance of the Chair of the Humanities and Social Sciences. In return, the Coordinator will enjoy a limited teaching load.The Coordinator will directly report to and closely work with the Division Chair to plan and implement the following activities:<ul><li>Plan, schedule and staff all courses for the Psychology programs, and those that are offered as service to other majors/special programs according to college, discipline, and departmental guidelines.</li><li>Review, evaluate, and revise program curricula and practices to assure compliance with academic and professional standards as well as state-mandated &amp; accreditation and validation guidelines.</li><li>Plan and offer such courses as appropriate for students with differing educational and experiential backgrounds and learning styles.</li><li>Evaluate students to measure their progress toward achievement of stated course objectives and inform them of their progress in the course in a timely manner.</li><li>Advise students on an individual basis regarding the courses they need to take in order to graduate.</li><li>Keep accurate student records and submit related annual reports and forms within the requested timelines.</li><li>Establish new or reinforce existing relations with relevant parties/institutions and aim to increase student employability via internships or joint academic/professional trainings.</li><li>Coordinate the hiring process of new faculty and evaluate all Psychology faculty on an annual basis.</li><li>Assist in promotional activities of the program and other related programs in conjunction with the Marketing and Enrollment offices.</li><li>Organize program-related workshops, activities and events.</li><li>Participate in standing or ad hoc committees and oversee the daily administration of the program.</li></ul>Position Requirements<ul><li>A doctoral Degree in Counselling Psychology or Neuropsychology or Social Psychology is required.</li><li>A minimum of 5-year University/College level teaching experience or other relevant work experience is required. University/College level teaching experience at a US-accredited higher education institution is preferred. British higher education experience is also important.</li><li>Published work in peer-reviewed journals and conferences commensurable with the rank of Associate/Full Professor.</li></ul>Skills, Knowledge and Abilities<ul><li>Proficiency in the development of relevant course curriculum and course design</li><li>Proficiency in teaching and course delivery</li><li>Knowledge of the latest teaching benchmarks and evolving teaching and learning trends</li><li>Use of effective methodologies and support activities that encourage student learning</li><li>Experience in an environment with sensitivity to people of diverse academic and&nbsp;cultural backgrounds</li><li>Strong interpersonal and team development skills</li><li>Self-discipline and ability to effectively manage others</li><li>Excellent written and oral communication skills in English as well as proficiency in online teaching platforms. Associate/Full Professor & Coordinator of the Psychology programs

The position is full-time for one year and may be renewable upon agreement of all parties. The successful candidate will directly report to the Academic Dean and have a record of professional experience that demonstrates the ability to undertake the following:<ul><li>Develop a mission that supports the particular goals of the Division and ACT’s broader goals.</li><li>Build strong relationships with the community.</li><li>Represent the interests of the Science &amp; Technology Division to ACT’s administration and outside constituencies.</li><li>Provide a key communication link between the ACT administration and Division faculty.</li><li>Develop partnerships with other universities.</li><li>Promote excellence in teaching, research and service.</li><li>Oversee the departmental assessment process and conduct periodic program reviews.</li><li>Oversee accreditation &amp; validation reviews.</li><li>Drive program development, evaluation and growth.</li><li>Oversee external grants, special programs and development projects.</li><li>Coordinate the division’s curricula with the relevant coordinator(s).</li><li>Assist in hiring new faculty.</li><li>Oversee faculty development and evaluation.</li><li>Assist in new student recruitment.</li><li>Oversee retention of majors.</li><li>Oversee student affairs, including advising and internships.</li><li>Develop and monitor the Division budget.</li></ul>Position Requirements<ul><li>A doctoral Degree in an academic area that relates to the Science and Technology division. Preference will be given to candidates with background in the broad area of computing.</li><li>Demonstrated record of academic and professional achievement in higher education.</li><li>Demonstrated record of successful leadership and administrative experience in academic settings.</li><li>Excellent command of the English language.</li><li>Excellence in oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Interest and experience in developing partnerships with schools in the US and with the community in Greece.</li><li>Demonstrated teaching experience and ability to teach in one of the areas offered by the Science and Technology Division. A minimum of six years of university/college level teaching experience or other relevant work experience is required.
