This pivotal role reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and is based in Athens, Greece.Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:<ul><li>Overseeing the end-to-end technological operations of the company’s digital platforms, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security</li><li>Leading and mentoring a multidisciplinary team of cross-functional developers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement</li><li>Developing and implementing a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with the organization’s editorial and business objectives</li><li>Evaluating and integrating emerging technologies to enhance user experience, content delivery, and operational efficiency</li><li>Collaborating with the editorial, marketing, and product teams to support content management, audience engagement, and monetization initiatives</li><li>Ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices in web &amp; app development, data protection, and cybersecurity</li><li>Managing relationships with external vendors and technology partners, negotiating contracts and overseeing service delivery</li><li>Monitoring and analyzing key performance indicators to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement</li><li>Any other task that may be required from time to time</li></ul>Professional experience &amp; qualifications of a successful candidate:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management &amp; Information Technology, or a related field</li><li>Master’s degree (MBA, Management &amp; Information Technology, or a related field) is highly preferred</li><li>Minimum of 8 years of experience in web development and technology management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role</li><li>Work experience from the digital media sector is considered a strong plus</li><li>Proven track record of managing complex digital projects and leading technical teams in a fast-paced environment</li><li>Extensive knowledge of front-end and back-end development, including proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP</li><li>Experience with content management systems (CMS), particularly WordPress, and familiarity with SEO best practices</li><li>Strong understanding of web analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, and their application in driving business insights</li><li>Familiarity with cloud services, hosting environments, and content delivery networks (CDNs)</li><li>Fluency in Greek and proficiency in English, both written and spoken</li></ul>Core competencies of a successful candidate:<ul><li>Strategic thinker with a vision for technological innovation</li><li>Effective communicator and collaborator across diverse teams</li><li>Decisive leader with strong organizational skills</li><li>Adaptable to evolving technologies and market trends</li><li>Committed to excellence and continuous learning</li><li>Analytical problem-solver with a data-driven mindset</li></ul>
