The American College of Greece (ACG) is seeking a highly motivated, service-oriented librarian to serve as Senior Specialist at the Kindergarten and Elementary Libraries at the East Campus. The successful candidate will provide various day-to-day circulation and cataloging services to kindergarten and elementary students and teachers.Job Responsibilities:<ul><li>Provide circulation services including, borrowing, returns, renewals, holds, overdues etc.</li><li>Catalog new acquisitions, maintain bibliographic information in the library system and prepare books and accompanying material for circulation.</li><li>Assist students and teachers in using library resources and responds to reference and technical questions.</li><li>Sort and shelve library materials and ensures that print collections are well organized and maintained.</li><li>Monitor the use of library spaces and equipment to ensure they are safe and functional for students and teachers.</li><li>Assist in organizing, events, displays and other activities as needed.</li><li>Perform any other duty as assigned by the supervisor.</li></ul>Required Qualifications:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Library Science</li><li>Minimum 1 year of relevant experience</li><li>Knowledge of cataloging and encoding standards (AACR2, RDA, MARC21)</li><li>Knowledge of the Dewey Decimal Classification system</li></ul>Required Skills:<ul><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Greek</li><li>Strong computer skills, including solid knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)</li><li>Attention to detail</li></ul>
