Responsibilities:<ul><li>Organizes and implements courses of action for matters of technical nature arising onboard vessels.</li><li>Instructs, coordinates and monitors works / repairs.</li><li>Follows up on the maintenance status, condition and operation of assigned vessels and co-operates with the crew, in order to ensure that assigned vessels are operating in a safe and efficient manner.</li><li>Attends vessels and periodically sails on-board to ensure the technical condition of the equipment.</li><li>Monitors and verifies vessel’s performance, supervises repairs, reports findings, follows-up closure of defects etc.</li><li>Provides training and technical advice to shipboard personnel, as necessary.</li><li>Implements effectively preventive maintenance of ship’s hull, main machinery, deck machinery, etc.</li><li>Monitors Class and Flag State requirements and plans required surveys accordingly.</li><li>Deals with any damage repairs or modifications, preserving the vessels commercial competence.</li><li>Monitors all technical problems, major defects and follows-up, until corrective action is verified.</li><li>Controls and monitors the lub-oil and bunker quality and consumption.</li><li>Prepares repairs / conversions, dry-docking, special surveys, damage and voyage repairs, and specifications and supervises the execution of all such works.</li><li>Attends delivery of new acquisitions.</li></ul>Qualifications / Experience:1. Degree in Marine Engineering / Naval Architecture and minimum 6 years of office experience or Chief Engineer’s license, minimum 3 years of sea service as Chief Engineer and 1 year of office experience as Superintendent Engineer.2. Fluency in English.3. Computer literate.4. Excellent communication skills.5. Travel mobility.

Technical Superintendent

We are looking for a Technical Superintendent to join our Marine &amp; Technical department. In this role, you will ensure that owned ships are managed with the highest quality of standards and their condition is always kept at the top levels, following global quality standards and best marine practices at all times. Other responsibilities include managing side projects related but not limited to dry docks, retrofit and other technical project end to end for the appointed vessels.Key responsibilities<ul><li>Manage and monitor the performance of appointed third-party Technical Managers for the owned fleet, including daily operational follow-up and financial performance reporting.</li><li>Oversee vessel technical matters in coordination with Technical Managers, including procurement and supply monitoring and quality assurance of services, maintaining a cost-conscious approach without compromising on standards.</li><li>Provide technical expertise and support across newbuilding programmes and existing fleet technology development, spanning all relevant shipping business types.</li><li>Analyse and document ongoing technical issues and concerns across Trafigura assets, ensuring lessons learned are captured and applied to future projects</li><li>Conduct OPEX analysis and benchmarking; lead timely dry-dock planning and manage fleet retrofit projects, including ESD, EGCS, and BWTS installations.
