Job Purpose<ul><li>Analyze, develop, and recommend Network and Telecoms Strategy and Roadmap</li><li>Plan and lead a team that executes Network &amp; Telecoms activities</li><li>Supervise the day-to-day operational care for all aspects of the technology infrastructure: routers, switches, firewalls, wifi, telephony, etc..</li><li>Manage department budget</li><li>Gatekeeper to approve changes to the production infrastructure environment</li><li>Ensure various projects are progressed and completed in a timely manner</li></ul>ResponsibilitiesTeam Management<ul><li>Leads, manages and coordinates a team of Network engineers and architects (on-premise, Hosted and Cloud)</li><li>Defines the skills and talents for Network engineers and architects team members</li><li>Develops, motivates, and directs team members to create a team environment.</li><li>Provides leadership, technology guidance and mentors others throughout their respective technical domain. </li><li>Responsible for the overall training and development for Network engineers and architects team members</li><li>May function as a project leader for assigned projects.</li></ul>Service Delivery<ul><li>Monitors on a regular basis all agreed service delivery and Infrastructure metrics to ensure that agreed service delivery KPIs are being met.</li><li>Reviews and certifies support documents provided by Infrastructure Architecture teams conform for team</li><li>Recommends and develops solutions for improvement of operational procedures.</li><li>Ensures all systems are monitored and alerts are fed to ITSM tool for management and resolution by the team</li><li>Ensure team proactively deals with alerts and prior to Imerys business becoming aware of these issues</li><li>Participates in the design, implementation, and execution of backup and disaster recovery plan for infrastructure solutions.&nbsp;</li><li>Supervises the tests and execution of backup and disaster recovery for infrastructure solutions when needed. </li></ul>Project Delivery<ul><li>Monitors on a regular basis all agreed project metrics to ensure that agreed project delivery KPIs are being met.</li><li>Produces a monthly report of all team metrics&nbsp;</li><li>May function as a project leader for assigned projects</li><li>Monitors team project delivery capacity and ensures team does not overcommit on project delivery. </li></ul>Technical Strategy<ul><li>Prepares detailed evaluations, requirements, and recommendations for Network &amp; Telecoms technologies</li><li>Ensures the design and supervise the deployment and the maintenance of enterprise telecommunications and telephony equipment</li><li>Validates network/telecom system baselines, including validation of documentation</li><li>Ensures network/telecom system security baselines are met and security improvements are implemented across the LAN/WAN environments.</li><li>Generates processes to ensure appropriate WAN, LAN, device privileges and access are granted, ensuring data integrity and security is met.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Ensures network/telecom system upgrades and service pack deployments are implemented with minimal impact to production operation.</li><li>Recommends implementation of updated network/telecom systems to deliver cost benefits without reducing production performance and availability.</li><li>Analyzes data from monitoring activities and defines comprehensive, system wide improvements.&nbsp;</li><li>Adjusts bandwidth on a routine basis and provides input to capacity planning activities.</li><li>Assists in defining and maintaining Imerys network infrastructure and operational procedures, upgrading existing services, and planning for growth.</li><li>Uses knowledge of LAN/WAN systems to help design and install internal and external network services</li><li>Manage the evaluations of the network systems to eliminate problems and ensure the recommendations for improvements in network operation and management are executed</li><li>Creates and maintains documentation regarding networking infrastructure, standards and projects</li><li>Contributes with the IT Industrial department and evaluates new technology to make recommendations for hardware and software acquisitions</li><li>Supervises and facilitates the evaluation and selection of hardware and software technology and product standards, as well as the design of standard configurations for network and telecom&nbsp;</li><li>Manage Asset Lifecycle Management and coordinate the removal of obsolete network solutions when needed.</li></ul>Standards, Policies and Procedures<ul><li>Supports, develops, and communicates technical policies, standards, guidelines and procedures related to Network infrastructure technical domain.&nbsp;</li><li>Designs standard configurations and patterns.&nbsp;</li><li>Promotes the Enterprise Architecture process, outcomes and results.&nbsp;</li></ul>Financial Management&nbsp;<ul><li>Understands and contributes to the Infrastructure Opex and Capex budget process</li><li>Proactively links Opex and Capex system processes to annual infrastructure budget</li><li>Contributes to the creation and accuracy of project budget</li></ul>Qualifications &amp;
