Based in Athens, Greece, the Finance Associate will report directly to the Managing Director and play a pivotal role in structuring and overseeing the company’s financial operations. This is a key position that combines financial execution with process design, reporting, and system optimization.Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:<ul><li>Organizing and formalizing internal finance-related procedures (e.g., expense claims, approval flows) to ensure clarity, compliance, and ease of use across teams</li><li>Acting as the primary point of contact with the external accounting office, ensuring smooth collaboration and timely, accurate financial processing</li><li>Monitoring and reviewing day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations</li><li>Managing supplier payments and overseeing the invoice approval process</li><li>Developing and maintaining monthly financial reports, including P&amp;L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements</li><li>Designing and setting up robust internal reporting mechanisms that support commercial and strategic decision-making</li><li>Assisting in budget preparation, variance analysis, and financial forecasting in coordination with the Managing Director</li><li>Collaborating with ERP consultants and internal users for the ongoing configuration and optimization of the company’s ERP system, including setting up financial structures and reporting tools</li><li>Supporting the financial needs of a growing field sales team, ensuring process alignment and visibility into costs and performance.</li><li>Any other task that may be required from time to time</li></ul>Professional experience &amp; qualifications of a successful candidate:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; Master’s degree is a plus</li><li>A minim of 5 years of professional experience in financial controlling or related roles, ideally in commercial or trading companies</li><li>Proven experience working in financial reporting and budgeting processes</li><li>Familiarity with ERP systems – experience with SoftOne is preferred</li><li>Strong understanding of GAAP and interaction with external accounting firms</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; comfort with data analysis and report building</li><li>Fluent in Greek with professional-level English communication skills</li></ul>Core competencies of a successful candidate:<ul><li>Detail-oriented and structured thinker</li><li>Discreet, ethical, and trustworthy</li><li>Solution-driven with a process mindset</li><li>Able to communicate clearly across teams</li><li>Proactive, reliable, and hands-on</li></ul>
