You know how to get the best from senior engineers, keep teams aligned, and ensure APIs are built and operated to a high standard.Here’s what we’re looking for:<ul><li>Experience managing backend or API-focused teams in SaaS or platform companies.</li><li>Solid technical background in backend engineering (Go, Java, Node.js, or similar) and familiarity with scaling APIs.</li><li>Strong grasp of the API lifecycle: OAuth2, JWT, SSO, versioning, quotas, rate limiting, monitoring, error handling.</li><li>Comfort working in cloud-native environments (ideally Google Cloud) with microservices and CI/CD practices.</li><li>Ability to balance delivery, quality, and sustainability while supporting team health.</li><li>Track record of effective cross-functional collaboration with Product and other stakeholders.</li></ul>Nice to have:<ul><li>Experience with API monetization and entitlements.</li><li>Exposure to AI/LLM integrations or Model Context Protocol (MCP).</li><li>Familiarity with observability practices (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).</li><li>Experience integrating APIs with enterprise SaaS systems.</li></ul>Equally important is attitude.
