APHI RESORTS is a member of Wavemaker Hospitality, a group with 45 years of expertise in hospitality and a diverse portfolio of more than 50 hotels. APHI Aura, Rhodes, Autograph Collection seeks a motivated and spirited professional as a Chief Engineer to keep the heart of the resort running with innovation and precision.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Chief Engineer oversees engineering projects, manages teams, and ensures the successful execution of engineering activities.

Key job responsibilities:

Overall management of the Hotel Maintenance Department as per the company’s budget, procedures and directives, including the following:

• Management, Supervision and coordination of his staff for the trouble-free operation of the hotel.

• Staff hiring, training and development following the brand’s standards & states’ legislation

• CAPEX & OPEX budget preparation and follow-up

• Staff working schedule, productivity and discipline.

• Ensure the application of relevant legislation on fire safety.

• Close cooperation with FO and HSK and control of rooms on arrival.

• Daily control and annual maintenance plan of all mechanical and electrical installations.

• Energy cost close follow-up and measures to reduce it.

• Fire safety regulations and procedures.

• Daily control of swimming pools.

• Close monitoring and follow-up of all ISO 14001, 9001 and H&S procedures.

• H&S president of the hotel committee.

• Any other matter related to the maximisation of Financial & Quality results of the hotel.

Requirements:

• University Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

• Be trained and have relevant knowledge for implementation of the following management systems: ISO 9001;14001; 22000& OSHAS

• Knowledge of Fire & safety regulation and practice.

• Knowledge of Swimming Pool treatment.

• 5 years’ experience in the Hotel Industry in a luxury property, in a similar position. A Marriott experience will be considered an advantage.

• Fluent English, both written and spoken.

• Very good computer knowledge

• Strong personality with excellent organisational and management skills.

• Leadership abilities

• Ability to motivate and manage staff.
