As a Dry Shipping Operator in Trafigura, you will have the opportunity to join a team that manages one of the world’s largest fleets in the world, handling all aspects of Time and Voyage Charter vessel operations for the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of shipping logistics, charter party terms, and global maritime operations, with a focus on delivering efficient, safe, and cost-effective voyages, while ensuring proper operation of TC and spot vessels and increase performance, following global standards and international regulations at all times.
Key responsibilities
Undertake voyage planning to meet international regulations and respond to vessel operational issues
Optimize bunker procurement and consumption strategies
Review and coordinate stowage planning, cargo handling operations, and real-time issue resolution
Coordinate agency appointments and provide voyage orders to vessels
Monitor vessel performance throughout all voyages, including speed and consumption analysis
Coordinate weather routing services and performance optimization initiatives
Manage hold / tank cleaning optimization
Handle vessel questionnaires, certificates, LOIs and all relevant supporting documentation
Maintain and update company software systems with required operational data
Collaborate with internal and external counterparties to ensure smooth management of ongoing operations, including pre- and post-fixture activities
Ensure compliance with Global Regulatory Requirements
Prepare operational reports and performance analysis
Ensure compliance with Trafigura's global policies and procedures at all times
Required qualifications
2-5 years’ office experience for Seafarers or 4-6 years’ office experience for Non Seafarers
Supramax/Panamax/Capesize vessel experience preferred
Strong knowledge of Charter Party terms (NYPE, Gencon, Baltime, etc.)
Fluent spoken and written English; IT system literacy (MS Office, Voyage management systems – IMOS VESON literacy, Optimization platforms)
Relevant maritime qualification/degree (e.g., nautical studies, maritime operations, or equivalent)

· P&L understanding and variance analysis

The Dry Shipping Operations Department is handling the Shipping Operations for the Group’s Time Charter and Voyage Vessels, in the Dry cargo division. Day to day tasks involve communication with Stakeholders (Vessel Masters, Shipping agents, Internal and External Counterparties,Legal Department etc), in order to execute the agreed Charterparties. High level of efficient Troubleshooting is required, along with prompt attendance on urgent matters, swift decision making, proper Time Management, and use of technology.
