The American College of Greece seeks a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional to join the Study Abroad Office as a Study Abroad Specialist. The successful candidate will support the College’s strategic initiatives to increase outbound study abroad participation by providing advising, managing administrative processes, coordinating logistics, and ensuring the smooth operation of study abroad programs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive information and guidance to students regarding study abroad opportunities, including program options, eligibility requirements, deadlines, and procedures.

  • Assist students with applications and required documentation.

  • Support pre-departure and re-entry orientations.

  • Respond to student inquiries via email, phone, and in-person appointments.

  • Maintain accurate records, applications, and databases related to outbound study abroad participation.

  • Conduct follow-ups with prospective and participating students.

  • Assist in planning and coordinating information sessions and outreach events.

  • Promote study abroad opportunities across the campus community.

  • Maintain effective communication and collaboration with students and ACG offices.

  • Manage and update Study Abroad Office social media accounts.

  • Assist with orientation activities, excursions, and program-related events.

  • Perform additional duties as needed to support the effective operation of study abroad programs.

Required Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of the North American higher education systems, particularly in recruitment cycles and admissions processes for study abroad students.

  • Understanding of prospective undergraduate students’ needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required (degree in Education or a related field preferred).

  • Minimum of two (2) years of administrative experience in higher education, preferably in a study abroad or international education setting.

  • Experience as a participant, organizer, or administrator in study abroad programs is preferred.

  • Fluency in English and Greek.

  • Background in international education or higher education administration is considered an asset.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and familiarity with student information and outreach systems.

  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills.

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational and multitasking skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, results-oriented approach.

  • Ability to build effective working relationships with diverse populations.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

  • Cultural sensitivity and strong cross-cultural communication skills.

Other Requirements:

  • Flexibility in working hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, when required.
