The American College of Greece (ACG) invites applications for the position of Part-Time Instructor in Visual Arts in the Visual Arts Department of the Frances Rich School of Fine and Performing Arts. This position is intended for an interdisciplinary contemporary artist and educator with the ability to teach foundational courses in color, drawing, painting, and/or digital image practices.
The successful candidate will be an active contemporary artist with a strong exhibition record and a demonstrated commitment to interdisciplinary artistic practice.
Required Qualifications:
MA and significant professional experience, MFA, or PhD in a closely related field.
Teaching and practical experience with painting/drawing or with digital image.
Active professional practice as a contemporary artist with a relevant exhibition profile.
Required Skills and Experience:
Teaching Experience in higher education, preferably at an English – speaking institution, in the field of Visual Arts. Emphasis in drawing, painting and digital image.
Ability to help students develop and finalize interdisciplinary art projects.
Professional experience as a contemporary artist. Experience in a range of art techniques and applications. A portfolio (or site) will be required.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds
Excellent organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Skills:
Evidence of delivery of art-related projects in the community.
Interest in working across disciplines (such as curatorial, organizational, theoretical etc.)
Experience in establishing productive links with arts organizations, galleries, museums, schools and community groups.
Other Requirements:
Eligibility to obtain a Ministry of Education Faculty Registry Number prior to the start of the contract.
